Mahr Metering Systems has been delivering the highest quality metering pumps for over 55 years. By incorporating over 140 years of experience in manufacturing precision measuring instruments and testing equipment, Mahr raised the bar for quality metering systems to a new standard of excellence. Mahr precision gear metering pumps maintain their high wear resistance and absolute dimensional stability, even at high temperatures and pressures.

There are many varieties of gear pumps, metering pumps, and positive displacement pumps on the market. Very few of these pumps are manufactured like a Feinpruef gear metering pump. The Feinpruef pump has only three moving parts: the drive shaft and the two metering gears. Therefore, there is a very high dependability rate in the Feinpruef pump. The accuracy of the pump is high due to its tight internal clearances (measured in micrometers).

The gear pump is driven by a motor and inverter. The pump’s flow rate is specified in cc/rev (cubic centimeters pre revolution). The pump has adjustable flow - simply increasing or decreasing the speed of the motor allows the output rate to be varied over a fairly wide range (typically 10 to 100 rpm). As the gears continuously mesh, there is no pulsation in the flow of the product being delivered.

Feinpruef pumps are designed for demanding applications. The highest quality high-speed tool steels must be utilized to control thermal expansion for high-heat applications. As of today, the longest running Feinpruef metering pumps, with minimal maintenance, have been operating since the early 1970’s in the USA.

Metering Pump Solutions for Low Pressure Applications

MarSpin MarSpin — Available in single and multiple outlet streams, this design excels under high temperatures and pressures. Generally manufactured in F16, N19, or E20 material, for superior performance in abrasive or corrosive environments. Capacities from 0.08 cc/rev to 2300 cc/rev are available. Design pressure of this metering pump is 5000 psi. This is the original “spinning pump” used for synthetic fiber production, but it also has many other applications.  Request a technical call back MarGlue MarGlue — Available in multiple outlet streams (up to 16), this “planetary” design is often used in applications which require multiple lines of the same product at the same flow rate. Typically manufactured in F16, F24 or N19 material. Capacities from 0.25 cc/rev to 30 cc/rev are available. Design pressure of this metering pump is 5000 psi.

MarFin MarFin — Available with single or multiple (up to 24) outlet streams, this design excels in low flow, low pressure, thin viscosity applications. Manufactured in N19 material, the “spin finish pump” is ideal for corrosive materials or solvents. Economical but very accurate, even at extremely low flow rates. Offered in capacities from 0.01 cc/rev to 20 cc/rev (per outlet stream). This design is limited to pressures under 50 psi, and is not recommended for high-temperature processes.  Request a technical call back MarChem MarChem (RV) — This single-stream design is an economical choice for chemical metering. The physical design of the RV pump offers “quick-change” mounting, and easily allows two or more pumps to be driven by a common motor. Excellent for products up to 60,000 cp, at pressures up to 1200 psi. Manufactured of 440 SS; works well in corrosive or solvent applications. This design is offered in capacities from 0.297 cc/rev to 60 cc/rev.

MarCoat MarCoat — This single-stream pump works well for thin viscosity materials, while maintaining critical accuracy. The DosiMar has many uses; however, it excels in the paint and coatings industry, as there are “flushable” designs available. Manufactured in N19, N23 or other stainless steels, with optional coatings such as DLC, this design can be used even in waterborne applications. Offered in capacities of 0.3 cc/rev to 50 cc/rev. Suitable for pressures to 400 psi.  Request a technical call back MarEx MarEx — The “inline” pump is often used to stabilize and increase pressure from the output of an extruder. The straight-through design of the inlet and outlet provide very low shear of the product. This pump type is designed to withstand extremely high temperatures and pressures, and may be manufactured in F16, N19, or other materials. Capacities from 0.3 cc/rev to 750 cc/rev are available. Design pressure of this metering pump is up to 7000 psi. Models are offered with electric or vapor heat jackets, or electric cartridge heating.

PolyMar PolyMar (reactor vacuum discharge) — Due to the wide inlet design of this pump, it is often used on polymer reactors or hoppers, where high pressure is required to transfer the thick molten product downstream to an extruder. A heat jacket (for thermal oil vapor or steam) is integrated into the pump design. Capacities of 50 cc/rev to 2300 cc/rev are available. Design pressure of up to 4000 psi. Generally manufactured in F24 and N23 materials.

MarDrive MarDrive — Combining a Mahr chemical pump with a variable speed drive enables the operator to vary the flow rate of the pump upon demand. This provides process control which exceeds any other low-cost chemical metering system on the market today. The design also allows one or two pumps to run simultaneously from one motor and controller.
